Understand the operation and safety procedures for operating an enclosed lifeboat’s on load / no load release hook system.Provide leadership and knowledge to coordinate the rescue of survivors to a safe place.Provide leadership and knowledge during the survival phase following an abandonment.This course replaces the Marine Emergency Duties (MED) B1 course for deep sea vessels.Īreas of study will include the following: ![]() The course meets the Standards of Training Certification and Watch keeping (STCW 95), Table A-VI(2-1) and is approved by Transport Canada. This certification is required for all navigation and engine room rating qualifications and for most certificates of competency as well as Fishing Master 1 and 2 class certificates. The aim of the course is to provide those who are assigned to crew a ship’s lifeboat or rescue boat, other than a fast rescue boat, with the knowledge and skills to safely and efficiently carry out those duties. ![]()
